Mediarology
is the brainchild of twin sisters Ophira and Tali Edut. Since
1990, the two have been creating and developing media together.
At the University of Michigan, they self-published HUES,
a groundbreaking women's magazine dedicated to transforming
the beauty standards of mainstream media. With a circulation
of 40,000 per issue, HUES was on stands
internationally for seven years, and selections from the
magazine are used as course curriculum in major universities
to this day.
Since then, Ophira and Tali have collectively
authored three books ranging
in topic from women's body image to astrology, and worked
with both small presses (Avalon) and media giants (Simon
and Schuster). They have built websites for celebrity chef Mario
Batali,
as well as a host of authors including New York Times bestselling
novelist Emily Giffin.
"Having worn every hat possible as business owners and publishers, we understand the importance of creating a visual and editorial message that's perfectly aligned with a brand," says Ophira.
The twins live in New York City, where
they also run a women's lifestyle brand, Astrostyle, centered around the zodiac. Astrostyle captured
the attention of industry heavy-hitters including Time Inc
and Conde Nast. Their columns reach millions monthly on Elle.com, MyLifetime.com and elsewhere.
They also publish their own site AstroStyle.com,
and are regular guests on Sirius/XM satellite
radio.
